A week ago (or so.. I’m not good with dates; ask the chick that wore my dinner on the Taxi ride home that Friday evening after the debutante ball) word hit that David Lynch was casting for a new “Twin Peaks” promo – to film last Tuesday in L.A – that required a young flaxen-haired hottie to play a waitress. While most questioned the validity of the news (tied to a casting call notice), others took turns at guessing just what the promo was. The most frequent guess was the correct one. Oh… and yes, the news was legit.. BABY!
“Twin Peaks” actor Ray Wise, known for his role as demonic poppa Leland Palmer on the series, tells Fangoria that a promo was indeed shot last week. According to Wise, it’s a bonus for the upcoming Blu-ray release of the Lynch/Mark Frost classic.
“Yeah, we [shot the promo for the Blu-ray] two days ago,” Wise tells Fango. “It’s been done. I don’t know if I was supposed to leak that to anybody, but yeah, we did it and I’m not at liberty to say what was done. I can say that it’s going to be a big surprise.”
So there you go! There’s more “Twin Peaks” coming! – – at least a few minutes worth, anyway!
Side Note : If you’re a fan of “Twin Peaks”, make sure you check out illustrator Martin Woutisseth’s animated take on the show. Beautiful stuff!
