“Harold & Kumar” alum Kal Penn will co-star in “Battle Creek”, the new Vince Gilligan/David Shore offering about “a detective and an FBI agent with very different world views who are teamed up to clean up the semi-mean streets of Battle Creek, MI.” Penn will play a detective who doesn’t take too kindly to the newly-arrived Fed. (Deadline)

So much for that; Neve Campbell‘s regular TV-part reprise won’t be coming off – not this time, anyway. The actress has exited TNT’s “Guilty by Association”, apparently because she didn’t feel ready to return to full-time television. The actress is best known for her long-running role as Julia on TVs “Party of Five”. (Deadline)

Australian actor Don Hany (“East West 101″) has snagged the male lead in “Warriors”, the ABC Studios’ medial drama inspired by the Walter Reed Military Medical Center. Hany plays ”trauma surgeon George Mann, who can’t stop taking care of these men, though it nearly breaks his heart, every day.” (Deadline)

HBO’s “Getting On”, the offbeat medical comedy starring Laurie Metcalf, Alex Borstein, Niecy Nash and Mel Rodriguez, has been renewed for a second season. (Deadline)

Karen Gillan (“Dr. Who”) is headlining the new ABC Comedy pilot “Selfie”, which Julie Anne Robinson will direct. Gillan plays “Eliza Dooley (Gillan), a self-obsessed, twentysomething who is more concerned with “likes” than being liked. After suffering a very public and humiliating breakup, she becomes the subject of a viral video and suddenly has more social media “followers” than she ever imagined — but for all the wrong reasons. She enlists the help of a marketing expert at her company to help repair her tarnished image.” (Deadline)

Paige Turco (“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II : The Secret of the Ooze”, “Party of Five”) has joined the cast of CBS’s Louisiana-set “N.C.I.S” spin-off (Deadline)

Olivia Williams (“Dollhouse”) will star in WGN America’s “Manhattan”; the actress plays John Benjamin Hickey’s wife in the World War II atomic bomb drama from Sam Shaw. (THR)

Christine Woods (“Hello Ladies”) will star in the NBC Comedy pilot “Two to Go”. ”Written by Bryan Shukoff & Kevin Chesley and directed by Craig Zisk, the project centers on longtime best friends Kurt and Laura (Woods), who grapple with the challenges of modern-day dating while their group of friends try and prove that they are destined to be together.” (Deadline)

A new “C.S.I” spin-off, fixing on cyber crimes, has been greenlit for a Fall launch (Deadline)

Jon Heder (“Napoleon Dynamite”) will star in Fox’s new multi-camera comedy about “a stunted, intelligent but underachieving, set-in-his-ways thirtysomething man (Heder) living with his mom (Kaczmarek) who finds his perfectly organized world upended when she gets married — and her new husband (Elliott) plus his three teenage children move in.” “Big Bang Theory” star Johnny Galecki is one of the producers on the show. (Deadline)

Showtime has renewed both “Shameless” and “House of Lies” for a fifth and third season, respectively.

Dylan Bruce will be back for the “Flowers of the Attic” sequel “Petals on the Wind”, reprising the role of Corinne’s husband. (THR)

Jacinda Barrett (“Matching Jack”) has joined the cast of the untitled Kyle Chandler/Sissy Spacek Netflix series (Deadline).

And finally, if you didn’t catch Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show premiere, here’s a few clips…
