Josh Boone (“The Fault in our Stars”) will direct Warner’s “The Stand”, based on the book by Stephen King. Scott Cooper had been previously attached to the adaptation (The Hollywood Reporter)

Matt Lauria, recently on “Parenthood”, has joined Frank Grillo on DirecTV’s gritty new drama series “Navy St” (Deadline)

“Riddick” star Jordi Morlla is joining Vince Vaughn in “Term Life”, the movie based on the Image Comics graphic novel (The Hollywood Reporter).

Famed musician Quincy Jones and TV vet Peggy Lipton (“Twin Peaks”) will play Rashida Jones’ parents on the TBS pilot “Tribeca” (Deadline)

The “Divergent” soundtrack will feature, among others, Skrillex and Snow Patrol (The Hollywood Reporter).

Warner Bros has scheduled a few more films : the Untitled New Line Horror Film (October 3), “Inherent Vice” (December 12, 2014), ”Mean Moms” (May 8, 2015), “Entourage” (June 12, 2015), “The Intern” (September 25, 2015), ”The Conjuring 2” (October 23, 2015), ”How To Be Single” (February 12, 2016).

Ashley Judd (“Kiss the Girls”) will star in the new NBC Drama pilot “Salvation”. The show, which sounds like it’s a mix between “Seventh Heaven” and “Dallas”, will also star Stark Sands, Meg Steedle, Emma Dumont and Jake Picking. (Deadline)

Justin Long will star in the new FOX comedy pilot “Silent Companion” (Deadline)

CBS has greenlit Matthew Perry’s “Odd Couple” reboot. Former “Friends” star Perry is playing the messy Oscar. (Deadline)

Ruben Fleischer (“Gangster Squad”) is in talks to helm Disney’s “Overnight”, described as ‘Home Alone in a Toy Store’ (Deadline).

Greg Grunberg (“Heroes”) is joining the ABC Medical drama “Warriors”, while his former “Alias” co-star David Anders is joining The CW’s “iZombie” (Deadline)

“Die Hard” director John McTiernan has finally been released from prison (The Hollywood Reporter).

Malcolm D.Lee will direct and Will Packer will produce “Girls Trip” (Deadline)

“Captain Phillips” star Barkhad Abdi will star in the Marathon drama “The Place That Hits the Sun” (The Hollywood Reporter).

Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are returning for “The Conjuring” sequel, due for release October 2015 (Variety)
