Keeley Hawes (“Line of Duty”) will join the new season of “Doctor Who”, set to play the latest villain, Ms Delphox (pictured below), “a powerful out of this world character with a dark secret”.

“I am delighted to join Doctor Who and to be working with this incredible team. Ms Delphox is a great character and someone I’ve had a lot of fun playing,” Hawes commented.

Steven Moffat, exec producer and lead writer, also said: “Anyone watching Jed Mercurio’s amazing Line of Duty will know that Keely Hawes is having one hell of a year. And now it’s about to get even better as she achieves the greatest villainy yet attempted on Doctor Who: she plays a banker.”

Production is underway on the new series which will air later this year on BBC1. It also marks the first time fans can see Peter Capaldi as the latest Doctor.
