Prometheus sequel will be closer in tone to Alien

Prometheus sequel will be closer in tone to Alien

Though rumored, it’s now official : “Prometheus” is getting a sequel.

The Wrap reports that Michael Green (the upcoming “Blade Runner 2″, “Green Lantern”) has been tapped to write the follow-up to the 2012 film, which is tentatively due March 2016. Jack Palgen had written an earlier draft of the sequel.

Michael Fassbender is expected to reprise his role as the android David, though this time there’ll be multiple versions of David!

“Prometheus” was somewhat of an unofficial prequel to Ridley Scott’s “Alien” (1979); the new film will be more in line with the latter – serving up lots of scares.

“Prometheus” has grossed more than $400 million worldwide.
