Chewbacca officially back for Star Wars : Episode VII

Peter Mayhew has officially signed on to reprise Chewbacca in “Star Wars : Episode VII”.

The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop on Mayhew’s return to that Galaxy Far, Far Away.. saying his commitment to the movie, which officially begins filming in May, meant he had to pull out of a convention appearance in Texas.

Mayhew’s Chewbacca will likely be joined by his former sidekick Han Solo, with Harrison Ford among those expected to reprise their roles from George Lucas’s original series.

Mayhew appeared in the original “Star Wars” trilogy, as well as prequel “Star Wars Episode III : Revenge of the Sith”.
