“Star Wars: Episode VII” director J.J. Abrams and co-writer Lawrence Kasdan said a big ‘Happy Star Wars Day’ yesterday as Disney released the trailer for the upcoming animated “Star Wars” TV series, “Star Wars Rebels”.

The small screen action follows the starship Ghost as they make a stand and fight back against the Empire following actions by Imperial forces to take over a remote planet. The storyline takes place between “Star Wars: Episode III” and “Star Wars: Episode IV”.

“Star Wars Rebels” will premiere on the Disney Channel as a one hour special. It will then move to Disney XD where it will continue as a series.

You can check out the trailer below along with a ‘video selfie’ from Abrams and Kasdan – who promise more casting for their project, “Star Wars: Episode VII”. Which characters and actors mightn’t have been announced yet? Maybe Billy Dee Williams’ Lando Calrissian?

“Episode VII” will bow on December 18, 2015 and is set to star Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.

May the 4th be with you!
