Mission : Impossible 5 nabs Call of Duty scribe

“Mission: Impossible 5” has secured itself a screenwriter.

Video game scribe Will Staples, the man behind “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3”, has been tapped to rewrite Drew Pearce’s (“Iron Man 3”) existing draft, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Tom Cruise will be back to reprise his leading role as Ethan Hunt in the Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions feature which will see Cruise’s Tom Cruise Productions produce alongside Paramount and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot.

The last “Mission Impossible” film grossed $694.7 million internationally when it opened in 2011.

Christopher McQuarrie will direct the pic which is scheduled for release on December 25, 2015.
