Renny Harlin returns (somewhat) to the big leagues for “Skiptracer”, Jackie Chan’s first American studio flick in several years, says Deadline.

Harlin (“Mindhunters”, “The Legend of Hercules”) steps in for Sam Fell (“Paranorman”) who has jumped ship.

“Skiptracer” teams Chan with “American Pie” alum Seann William Scott and “X-Men : Days of Future Past” star Fan Bingbing “in the tale of a Hong Kong detective (Chan) who teams up with a mouthy American gambler (Scott) to save his niece and take down the city’s most notorious criminal”.

Chan came up with the story, and had Jay Longino script it.
