Tom Hiddleston (“The Avengers”) will play musician Hank Williams in a new biopic from Brett Ratner and James Packer’s RatPac Entertainment, says Deadline.

“I Saw The Light” will be directed by Marc Abraham, and is a co-production between RatPac, Bron Studios and Creative Wealth Media Finance, all of which will bankroll the film.

Abraham wrote the script.

Hiddleston, who will sing in the film, will play a man who rose to fame fairly quickly, at great cost to his personal life. Williams died at age 29 of heart failure.
