The Weinstein Company are scouring the globe for a flexible thesp to fill the role of ‘Snow Vase’ in the upcoming “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon II The Green Destiny”.

Snow Vase is one of the main roles in the Woo-ping Yuen directed movie, which is scheduled to begin it’s shoot at the end of July in New Zealand. Being that she plays the offspring of the character Ziyi Zhang played in the original, the role has been described as a ‘young Ziyi Zhang’.

The casting call that has gone out…

SNOW VASE. 18-25, FEMALE, CHINESE. When we first meet her, she’s a punk yet feminine swordswoman, cocky, fearless and (despite her youth and beauty,) highly skilled in martial arts. Behind her devil-may-care demeanor, Snow Vase is driven by her duty to her late, adoptive mother, Jen Yu (Zhang Ziyi’s character in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), to whom she made a deathbed promise to find Jen’s stolen son. Under the tutelage of swordswoman Yu (Michelle Yeoh), Snow Vase becomes a calmer, more tempered blade, but is still stunned when she finds that Tie-Fang, who may be friend or foe, is Jen’s long-lost child. Prototype is Angelababy. Think young Ziyi Zhang… LEAD

20 years after the events depicted in ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’, four heroes of the Martial World, Silent Wolf (Donnie Yen), Yu Shu-lien (Michelle Yeoh), Tie-Fang and Snow Vase, must use all their courage and skills to keep the legendary sword Green Destiny from the hands of the villainous Hades Dai.

John Fusco wrote the script.
