Oz-filmed Moon and the Sun picked up by Paramount

Pierce Brosnan starer “The Moon and The Sun” will be distributed in the US by Paramount Pictures. The studio has slotted the film in for an April 10, 2015 release.

William Hurt, Kaya Scodelario, Benjamin Walker, Pablo Schreiber and Bingbing Fan also star in the film from director Sean McNamara.

The story follows Brosnan as King Louis XIV as he attempts to become immortal by stealing the life force from a mermaid. The film is based on Vonda N. McIntyre’s novel.

Bill Mechanic, the man who brought the project to paramount, is producing with director McNamara, Hong Pang, Wei Han, Paul Currie and David Brookwell.
