Chloe Moretz says she likely won’t be playing Hit-Girl again – and blames internet pirates for the abrupt conclude of her “Kick-Ass” character’s arc.
Taking a dagger to Torrent floggers, the “If I Stay” stay tells Digital Spy there won’t be a “Kick-Ass 3” and blames the widespread piracy of the last sequel for the franchise stoppage.
“Sadly, I think I’m done with the character. Hit-Girl was a very cool character, but I don’t think there will be any more movies.”
“Kick-Ass 2 was one of the number one pirated movies of the year, but that doesn’t help us because we need box office figures. We need to prove to the distributors that we can make money from a third and a fourth movie – but because it didn’t do so well, we can’t make another one.”
At one stage there was talk of Moretz headlining her own “Hit Girl” spin-off film so this revelation ultimately kills two projects.
The actress did say, however, that she’s not against playing a superhero-type in a different film. Any spots left in “Batman vs. Superman : Dawn of Justice” for Batgirl, Zack?
