While this one is certainly not a lock, rumour has it Alden Ehrenreich (“Hail, Caesar!”) could be in line to play Han Solo in Disney’s upcoming stand-alone Han Solo Star Wars movie.
Deadline reports that Ehrenreich has emerged as the front-runner for the role following screen tests that narrowed down the field.
Other actors in the mix include Taron Egerton and Jack Reynor, however Ehrenreich is apparently the first choice at this stage.
The Han Solo film will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (“The Lego Movie”) and is due to be released on May 25, 2018. The movie will centre on Solo’s days before he joined the rebel alliance.
Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy is producing with Lawrence Kasdan and Jason McGatlin exec producing. Kasdan and his son Jon Kasdan wrote the script.
