Casting: Byrne, O’Brien, God Particle, Common & Qing, Monroe & Skrein

Rose Byrne is in negotiations to star in comedy “Home Again”, about a recently separated mother of two, who takes in three charming young men.

Hallie Meyers-Shyer is writing and directing with the shoot scheduled for August in Los Angeles.

 

 

Dylan O’Brien is in negotiations to join Michael Keaton in CBS Films’ “American Assassin”.

Michael Cuesta is directing from a screenplay by Stephen Schiff based on Vince Flynn’s novel.

Based on Vince Flynn’s novel, “American Assassin” follows a Cold War veteran (Keaton), who would be the most feared training officer in the CIA if more than a handful of people at the agency actually knew of his existence. As the story begins, his deputy director tasks him with training a black ops recruit (O’Brien) devastated by the loss of his fiancée to a terrorist attack. The pair is eventually dispatched on a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent to stop a mysterious operative from starting World War III in the Middle East. – via Variety.

 

 

Daniel Bruhl is in final negotiations to join “The God Particle”, Paramount’s sci-fi thriller produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot.

David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, John Krasinski and Elizabeth Debicki are in the cast of the film which follows “crewmembers aboard a space station who find themselves alone after a scientific experiment causes Earth to disappear. When a space shuttle appears, the space station crew must determine if they are friend or foe” (via THR).

Julius Onah is directing the movie.

 

 

Common and Xu Qing have joined Ethan Hawke in thriller “24 Hours to Live”, from director Brian Smrz.

Zachary Dean wrote the script based on an original story from Ron Mita and Jim McClain.

“24 Hours to Live” centres on a career assassin who is given a chance at redemption after his employer brings him back to life temporarily, just after being killed on the job.

 

 

Maika Monroe and Ed Skrein will headline “TAU”, a new sci-fi thriller from director Federico D’ Alessandro.

Noga Landau penned the screenplay which follows Monroe as Julia, once a street-smart grifter who becomes the latest victim kidnapped and held captive in a fatal experiment. The only thing standing in the way of her freedom is TAU, an advanced artificial intelligence developed by Alex (Skrein), her captor. TAU is armed with a battalion of drones that automate a futuristic smart house. TAU’s potential is only limited by his understanding of the world he exists in, but TAU is ready for more. Julia, showing resourcefulness and courage, must race against time to bridge the boundaries between man and machine, connect to TAU and win her freedom before she suffers the same fate as the previous subjects.
