Alexis Arquette (1969-2016)

Actress and activist Alexis Arquette, known for her roles in such films as “The Wedding Singer” and Pulp Fiction”, has sadly passed away at the age of 47.

The sibling of fellow actors David, Rosanna and Patricia Arquette died on Sunday morning surrounded by family who serenaded her with David Bowie’s ‘Starman’.

Alexis, born Robert Arquette, entered showbiz at an early age. One of her actor’s first onscreen appearances was in the Tubes’ video ‘She’s a Beauty’ at age 12. Filmwise, Arquette made her breakthrough in the cult drama “Last Exit to Brooklyn”, playing the trans sex worker Georgette.

In later years, Arquette would appear briefly but memorably in films such as “The Wedding Singer” (playing Boy George impersonator, George), “Pulp Fiction”, “Bride of Chucky” and “Blended”uewt.

Arquette’s biggest contribution was her efforts to increase awareness and visibility to the transgender community.
