Hot on the heels of Steven Seagal’s announcement that a Nico reprise is on the cards, with ”Above the Law 2” now in the scripting stages, the iconic action star has now announced a possible Casey Ryback return. Yep, Seagal tweeted that a script is currently being written – by Woodie Mister, who is also doing the ”Above the Law” sequel – that’ll see the lethal cook back in business. The property is owned by Warner Bros so, Seagal’s production company Steamroller Productions must have purchased the rights – or maybe it’s a co-production?- to the ”Under Siege” and ”Above the Law” franchises. More as we hear it!
Meanwhile, we’ve a little news on another belated sequel. “Top Gun 2”, which has been in development for several years now, doesn’t seem to be inching any closer to the tarmac but star and producer Tom Cruise confirmed this week that they are working on it. Out promoting “Jack Reacher : Never Go Back”, Cruise tells Screen Rant that “well, we’re working on it. We’re trying to figure it out.” The sequel, which original helmer Tony Scott had hoped to direct before his tragic death, will apparently fix on drones and the deteriorating need for human pilots.
