James Gray has closed a deal with MGM to direct “I Am Pilgrim”, an adaptation of the espionage novel trilogy by Terry Hayes. Hayes has written the adaptation, and Lloyd Braun is producing (anyone else think Seinfeld when they see Lloyd Braun’s name? Please tell me it’s not just me…).
Gray just wrapped up “Ad Astra” with Brad Pitt. Long ago, Matthew Vaughn was attached to the project but that seems to have fallen through. MGM have been working on the project for some time, with first news of it breaking 4 years ago.
Via Deadline: Pilgrim is the code name for a man who doesn’t exist. The adopted son of a wealthy American family, he once headed a secret U.S. espionage unit. Now in anonymous retirement, he is called upon to lend his expertise to an unusual investigation but ultimately is caught in a race against-time to save America from oblivion.
