Hot off the heels from the news of Captain Picard’s (Patrick Stewart) return to a “Star Trek” TV series, comes some bad news about the upcoming “Star Trek 4”, with reports suggesting that Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth may bow out of the production.
The Hollywood Reporter is saying that following failed salary negotiations, the duo are walking away from the flick, but other cast Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg and John Cho still aboard.
Pine was going to reprise his role as Captain Kirk, with Hemsworth returning as his father, but word is that they were being asked to take a pay cut, hence their decision to bail.
So what next? We wait- and see if they try and negotiate further, if their roles are recast, or a new direction is taken altogether. S. J. Clarkson is set to direct the new film.
