Snap! Interview on Crackle rumor goes Pop!

Is Sony planning to release “The Interview” on Crackle?

Might you soon be able to program you own double feature of “The Interview” and “Joe Dirt 2”? (And follow those up with a marathon of “Comedians talking in cars with Jerry Seinfeld”?.. or whatever the heck that show is called). And if so, will Crackle team with a pottery company to offer half-price bong bowls in the lead-up?

Mashable says reports suggesting Sony had inked a deal with Crackle to stream “The Interview” online for free aren’t true. Not yet, anyway.

The New York Post reported on Saturday that Sony and Crackle had teamed up to release Kim Jong Un’s least favourite movie of 2014 on the streamer. While parts of that report might be true, Mashable says it’s far from a done deal.

While Crackle makes sense, considering their ties with Sony (they run a lot of Sony’s back-catalog – including movies like “Jerry Maguire” and “Sleepless in Seattle”, as well as shows like “The Shield” and “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee”), Sony is yet to decide on an outlet. So, again, my idea to project the film on a white sheet on the back of my house could still be the go. And if so, yes, I will chip in for the Pizza.
