All your favourite superheroes teaming up!
This is the most exciting news I’ve heard all day – and no, it doesn’t concern ‘Paris Hilton’ or the word ‘Blacklisted’.
According to Variety, a [drumroll please] “Justice League” movie is in the works. That’s right, all your favourite superheroes in the one damn movie?! Now tell me that’s not better than extra cheese on ya’ Pie?
Though Warner Bros won’t confirm which superheroes will actually team up for the film – they’ve got the option to include Batman, Superman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman; and a couple of others – they have announced the two tight-wearing chaps that they see fit to tackle the screenplay : Kiernan and Michele Mulroney.
Yep, Kiernan is the brother of actor Dermot Mulroney (“My Best Friend’s Wedding”). With his wife, he did a ripper re-write on FOXs “Mr & Mrs Smith”.
“The Justice League of America has been a perennial favorite for generations of fans, and we believe their appeal to film audiences will be as strong and diverse as the characters themselves,” Warner prexy of production Jeff Robinov said in announcing the hiring of the Mulroneys.
In taking on the ambitious project, Warner faces several conundrums.
Now that the Batman and Superman film franchises have been revived, does the studio go after Christian Bale (“Batman Begins”) and Brandon Routh (“Superman Returns”) to star in a Justice League pic?
