The resourceful Danny McBride (“Pineapple Express”, “Eastbound & Down”) is going from Aloha to Alien.
The comedy staple is giving sci-fi a try, jetting to Australia for a role in Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” sequel “Alien : Covenant”.
Michael Fassbender and Katherine Waterston are already locked and loaded.
The Hollywood Reporter, who had the scoop on McBride’s anointment, speculates that the actor might be playing the role of one of two techie roles supposedly in the script.
McBride was last seen in Bill Murray’s blink-and-you-missed-it “Rock the Kasbah” and Cameron Crowe’s never-even-had-a-chance “Aloha”.
