Caffeinated Clint
The pilot for TNT’s “Animal Kingdom” – based on the [Aussie] movie of the same name – has landed ’80s movie icon Ellen Barkin and former “Felicity” star Scott Speedman for lead roles, says Deadline.
Barkin will play the role Jacki Weaver played in the film, while Speedman takes on the role originated by Joel Edgerton.
John Wells will direct the pilot for the series, which follows a 17-year-old who moves in with his crooked grandmother and his equally immoral uncles after his mother overdoses. Once housed, he gets caught up in the family business.
Filming on “Animal Kingdom” begins next month in Los Angeles.
