’80s icons join Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow

The CW’s TCA panel dropped quite a few juicy bits on the shows contained within the ‘Arrowverse’ (apparently the ‘Flashpoint’ storyline only lasts a couple of eps of “The Flash”) today, including a couple of fun casting titbits.

Firstly, ’80s icon Dolph Lundgren (“Rocky IV”, “Masters of the Universe”) will guest star on upcoming episodes of “Arrow”. Lundgren will play a villain in flashbacks set in Russia – where we’ll presumably learn how Oliver got his tats and learned to speak Russian.

Producers confirmed that this year will be the last year we’ll be seeing flashbacks on the show.

Meanwhile “Aliens” and “Terminator” fave Lance Henriksen will play Obsidian on “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”.

The character makes up part of the Justice Society of America – alongside Patrick J. Adams as Hourman, Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Vixen, Matthew MacCaull as Commander Steel and Sarah Grey as Star Girl – on The CW series.

Both shows return to the air in October.
