Barbara Hershey set for Omen spin-off

Barbara Hershey (“Beaches”, “Insidious Part 2”) will star in “Damien”, Lifetime’s TV sequel to “The Omen”, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The show follows the adult life of Damien Thorn (Bradley James), the kid from the original Richard Donner movie. Much like Norman Bates on “Bates Motel”, the series chronicles the journey of a young man who eventually is forced to give into the evil that drives him from within.

Hershey is Ann Rutledge, the world’s most powerful woman who has been tasked with making sure Damien fulfills his destiny as the Antichrist.

The show, written and executive produced by Glen Mazzara, will air sometime this year.
