Black Panther brilliance : kicking goals in every arena

So we all know that “Black Panther” is an amazing film, but its effect seems to be reaching well beyond the realm of pure entertainment value.

Variety is reporting that the box office success of “Black Panther” officially makes it the third highest Marvel Cinematic Universe release of all time, only beaten by “The Avengers” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. Not only that, but it’s now in good competition to DC, with the film domestically beating out “Wonder Woman”.

To be honest though, facts and figures bore me just a little bit so just read on Variety if you’re interested in the nitty gritty, but for now I wish to focus on a bigger issue.

A user on Tumblr is reporting that their local cat shelter is now suffering a black cat shortage, as people adopt out the cuties and name them after “Black Panther” characters:

All together now… “awwwwww”. This is exceptionally good news for the homeless kitties of the world, as they are finding forever homes as a result of a fellow feline superhero. Don’t forget the other coloured kitties though! You can always name a white cat “Black Panther” in a poor attempt at irony.

Finally, the best way to show off how much you loved the film is by wearing it. Check out this awesome new tee from our friends at Film Jackets. If you can’t adopt a kitty cat this year, how about wearing one instead?
