Scarlett Johansson may do battle with a Creature from a Black Lagoon.
The Tracking Board suggests the “Avengers” actress is the frontrunner to star in the Universal remake, playing the role made famous by Julie Adams in the ’54 original.
“Creature from the Black Lagoon” is one of a bunch of Universal monster movies that Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing; the others – including a new “Mummy” movie, “Frankenstein” too – would share some kind of Marvel Universe-like world. Expect crossovers, and cameos.
Jeff Blitz, Gary Ross, Tedi Sarafian and Paul Schering penned the script for this one.
