Bond 25 : Malek out, Seydoux in

Golden Globe Nominee Rami Malek (“Bohemian Rhapsody”) is reportedly in the mix for a lead role in the next James Bond film.

Malek, who is scoring raves for his dynamite turn as Freddie Mercury in Bryan Singer’s aforesaid Queen pic, is reportedly wanted for the villain in the film, starring opposite returning MI6 agent Daniel Craig, says Variety.

Unfortunately for the actor, his schedule on the last season of “Mr. Robot,” which shoots from March through July, makes it unlikely that he will be able to take the gig, even if he gets a formal offer.

Meantime, producers of the film are reportedly courting some franchise regulars with offers to return for the film- reportedly Daniel Craig’s last hurrah as JB – with Leo Seydoux already set to reprise her “Spectre” role as psychologist Madeleine Swann, says the trade.

The role Malek had been eyed for, as well as a female MI6 agent who works with Bond and another a mystery women are also being cast.

Cary Joji Fukunaga is writing and directing the pic, which releases Feb. 14, 2020.
