Brie Larson, who this year won Best Actress for her role in “Room”, will make her directorial debut on the indie comedy “Unicorn Store”.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Larson will also star in movie and produce it alongside David Bernad and Ruben Fleischer via their banner The District. Paris Kasidokostas-Latsis and Terry Dougas are also producing through their Rhea Films, with their Hercules Film Fund providing the financing.
The Samantha McIntyre-written screenplay tells of a “woman named Kit who, after moving back in with her parents, receives a mysterious invitation to a store that will test her idea of what it really means to grow up.”
Miguel Arteta was considering directing the project at one stage, with Rebel Wilson in the lead role, but scheduling caused the project to crumble like an old biscuit.
Larson had previously directed a short film, the Sundance-winner “The Arm”.
