Brie Larson replacing Emma Stone in Battle of the Sexes

“Trainwreck” actress Brie Larson is in talks to join Steve Carell in “Battle of the Sexes”.

Larson will replace Emma Stone (who dropped out of the project due to scheduling conflicts) in the role of tennis great Billie Jean King.

Carell will play Bobby Riggs in the film about the 1973 ‘Battle of the Sexes’ tennis match in which 29-year-old No. 2 ranked female star King beat 55-year-old retired former Wimbledon champion Riggs.

“Little Miss Sunshine” filmmakers Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris are directing from Simon Beaufoy’s screenplay.

Producers are Danny Boyle of Decibel Films and Christian Colson of Cloud Eight.
