Bryan Singer goes Mutants to Munsters

Bryan Singer is headed to the box.

The “Superman Returns” helmer will produce and direct the pilot episode of NBC’s new “Munsters” reboot, says Deadline.

Herman Munster’s resurrection was the idea of “Pushing Daisies” alum Bryan Fuller, who has penned a one-hour drama that’s promised to be “visually spectacular” and obviously less camp than the previous small screen incarnation of the property.

Singer directed the pilot episode of “House” as well as the “Footballer’s Wives” opener but this is his first televisual jaunt in a few years.
