Bryan Singer will be finding Nemo this Fall!

Umpteen years after [whatever shingle] first kicked around the idea of remaking it, the studio’s “20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea” redo is finally inching towards the big wet – with “X-Men” alum Bryan Singer behind the Nikon.

According to Deadline, the flick will be Singer’s next and is aiming for a Fall start. Rick Sordelet & Dan Studney scripted.

The pic reunites Singer and Fox, whom he’s done the last couple of “X-Men” movies with.

“X-Men : Apocalypse” helmer Singer, who’ll also produce the adaptation of the Jules Verne classic, is now oaring towards casting. I know at one stage there was talk of Brad Pitt doing the flick, but that was when David Fincher was eyeing the project. Likely it’s someone else’s job to nab now.

“I’m incredibly excited to be working with my friends at Fox, with whom I’ve had such a long and fruitful relationship,” Singer told Deadline. “Ever since I was a boy and first discovered the 1870 Jules Verne novel, I have dreamt of retelling this classic story. Without revealing too much, it contains not only the original characters of Captain Nemo, Ned Land and Professor Aronnax, but also some new and original characters and Sci Fi plot twists culminating in a timeless adventure for all ages.”

Singer will likely be juggling PR commitments on “Apocalypse” with start-of-production on “Leagues”. Busy lad.
