The Age newspaper has more details on the upcoming "Salem’s Lot" remake lensing down under. According to the publication, Dan Byrd ("Firestarter 2") has joined the cast as Mark Petrie and Samantha Mathis ("Jack and Sarah") will star as Lowe’s love interest, Susan Norton. In the film, Rebecca Gibney plays Majorie Glick, a woman whose young son becomes the vampire’s first victim. Rob Lowe is lead character, Ben Mears.The Nine Network [in Australia] has first option on the four-hour series, being made for US Network TNT.
