Casting: Crowe, Wolverine 3, Brown, Grillo

Russell Crowe is in early talks to play “a Jekyll-like role” in “The Mummy”, opposite Tom Cruise.

Alex Kurtzman is directing the film from a script by Jon Spaihts.

“The Mummy” will release on June 9, 2017.

 

 

Eriq Lasalle is set to join Hugh Jackman, Boyd Holbrook and Stephen Merchant in the cast of “Wolverine 3”.

James Mangold is directing from David James Kelly’s screenplay.

Plot and character details on Lasalle’s role are unknown.

 

 

Sterling K. Brown has joined Chadwick Boseman and Josh Gad in “Marshall”, director Reginald Hudlin’ Thurgood Marshall drama.

Brown will play Joseph Spell, an itinerant worker newly relocated from Louisiana to Connecticut, where he is accused of the rape and attempted murder of a wealthy Greenwich socialite. The sensational 1941 trial brought a young Marshall, counsel for a struggling NAACP, to Bridgeport, CT, where he teamed with young Jewish lawyer Sam Friedman (Josh Gad) to defend Spell. The trial is set against a background of Northern racism and anti-Semitism. – via Deadline.

Boseman will play Marshall.

 

 

Frank Grillo is set to headline “Wolf in the Wild”, opposite Claire Holt.

The film centers on a young man who is taken in by his best friend’s family after his grandmother dies. Life initially seems idyllic, until he stumbles upon proof that his adopted father may be a violent criminal. Tonally, the film is meant to be a mixture of “Disturbia” and “Rear Window.” – via Variety.

Greg Plotkin is directing from a screenplay by Mark Mavrothalasitis and Will Frank.
