Casting: Aniston, Owen, Ferguson, Harris, All Eyez On Me, Outlander

Jennifer Aniston will star in Fox 2000’s “The Fixer”.

Anniston will play Denise White, “a former Miss USA contestant who rose to the top of the male-dominated world of professional sports management by establishing herself as a tireless defender of her high-profile clients when their images were in serious peril” (via Deadline).

The studio has nabbed White’s life rights as well as the rights to a pitch by Melisa Wallack (“Dallas Buyers Club”), and Paul Solotaroff’s Men’s Journal article “The Woman Who Bails Out The NFL’s Bad Boys.”

 

 

Clive Owen will star in sci-fi thriller “Anon”, from writer/director Andrew Niccol.

Set in a world with no privacy, ignorance and anonymity, Owen will play a detective who stumbles on a young woman who doesn’t exist.

Niccol is also producing with Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur of K5 Film.

The anonymous girl has not yet been cast.

 

 

Rebecca Ferguson has nabbed a lead role in Skydance sci-fi pic “Life”.

“Life” follows the crew of the International Space Station who retrieve a sample from Mars that not only shows signs of life, but proves to be more intelligent than expected.

Daniel Espinosa is directing the film from“Deadpool” scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese

 

 

Jared Harris has joined Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard in an untitled spy thriller from director Robert Zemeckis.

Steven Knight penned the script about a spy (Pitt) in 1942 “who falls in love and marries a French agent (Cotillard) during a dangerous North African mission” (via Variety).

The film will likely release on November 23.

 

 

Cory Hardrict will play Hatian Jack in Tupac Shakur biopic “All Eyez on Me”.

Danai Gurira, Kat Graham, Jamie Hector and Demetrius Shipp Jr. co-star in the film from director Benny Boom.

“Haitian Jack was the most feared man in the music industry at the time, known for his extortion and strong-armed tactics in the hip-hop community. This relationship proved to be a very dangerous one for Tupac” (via Variety).

 

 

Sophie Skelton is set to play Brianna, the daughter of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), in the second season of Starz’s “Outlander”.

 

 

Tobias Menzies, Graham McTavish, Gary Lewis, Duncan Lacroix, Rosie Day, Claire Sermonne, Stanley Webber and Richard Rankin co-star.

Season 2 of the series will debut on Starz in April.
