Fox 2000 is developing Sherman Alexie’s YA book “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian” into a film with Hugh Jackman to play a supporting role.
According to THR, the story centers on a teen named Junior, a budding cartoonist growing up on the Spokane Indian Reservation. Determined to take his future into his own hands, he leaves his troubled school on the reservation to attend an all-white farming town high school where the only other Indian is the school mascot.
Justice Smith (“The Get Down”) will join Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in the next “Jurassic World” film, reports THR.
J.A. Bayona is directing the film which is set to start shooting in England in the spring.
“Jurassic World” director Colin Trevorrow is writing the script for the sequel with Derek Connolly. Plot details remain under wraps.
Isabelle Huppert (“Elle) will star in Benoit Jacquot’s psychological thriller “Eva”, adapted from James Hadley Chase’s novel.

Regina King will headline Netflix’s forthcoming racial crime drama “Seven Seconds”.
According to THR, the series will see tensions run high between African-American citizens and Caucasian police officers in Jersey City, where a teenage African-American boy is critically injured by a cop. King will play Latrice Butler, a devout churchgoer and proud wife and mother. After she and her family move out of the projects and become first-time homeowners, Latrice is shaken to her core when she learns that her 15-year-old son, Brenton, has been involved in an incident. Suddenly aware that there’s more to Brenton than she and her husband were aware of, Latrice is rocked by the power of her anger at her son’s predicament, an anger that will change her life, her relationship with her husband and more.

Sam Worthington is set to star in Discovery Channel’s upcoming FBI crime drama “Manifesto” and Keisha Castle-Hughes is in negotiations to join him.
The series will tell the story of how the FBI brought down Ted Kaczynski (Paul Bettany), also known as the “Unabomber,” one of the most infamous criminal masterminds in the world. Worthington will play FBI Agent Jim “Fitz” Fitzgerald, one of the most decorated profilers in the history of the Bureau, whose radical new approach to intelligence gathering ultimately took Kaczynski down.
Deadline reports Castle-Hughes will play Tabby, a street agent who partners with Worthington’s character. She has no experience in the department but is studying psychology, so they put her in the Behavioral Unit. Tabby tries to keep Fitz in check in the quest to solve the case.
Greg Yaitanes will serve as showrunner for the series, will exec produce and is set to direct all episodes.
