Casting : Josh Gad & Rebel Wilson eye The Little Shop of Horrors; Judy Greer to join Ant-Man and the Wasp

“The Little Shop of Horrors” remake has been chugging along slowly in the background, with Warner Bros. set to bring back the 1960’s classic. The film was also reinvented for Broadway in 1982 as a musical, and a Frank Oz-directed version hit the screens in 1986 starring Rick Moranis and Ellen Greene. The film is a musical comedy that tells the story of a florist who cultivates a plant that feeds on human blood.

That Hashtag Show is reporting that Josh Gad and Rebel Wilson are in talks to climb aboard the project in the lead roles of Seymour and Audrey respectively. Seymour is the florist, and Audrey is his coworker and the object of Seymour’s affections. Both Gad and Wilson are familiar with the singing-acting roles, having starred in movies such as “Frozen”, “Beauty and the Beast” and the “Pitch Perfect”.

Nothing has been confirmed as yet, nor a release date for the remake, but no doubt more info to come!

Another familiar face has been added to the “Ant-Man and the Wasp” cast, with Judy Greer signing on to reprise her role as Maggie Lang in the sequel to 2015’s “Ant-Man”. Greer played Ant-Man/Scott Lang’s ex-wife and mother to their daughter. She joins new cast members Michell Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburn, as well as returning stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas and Michael Peña.

Plot details for the film still remain under wraps, but the release date is set for July 6, 2018. The 2nd helping of “Ant-Man” is being directed by Peyton Reed. News via Deadline.
