Corey Stoll is joining Ryan Gosling in “First Man”, the Neil Armstrong biopic. Stoll is set to play Buzz Aldrin, aka the second man on the moon. The film tells the story of Neil Armstrong, and NASA’s mission to land man on the moon. It will be set from 1961-1969, and is based off the book “First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong” by James Hansen. Thanks Variety.

Gosling will be playing Armstrong, and will have Stoll as his right-hand man Aldrin, who was also aboard Apollo 11 in 1969. Kyle Chandler has also been cast in the flick as Deke Slayton, a WWII flyer, aeronautical engineer and test pilot who became NASA’s first Chief of the Astronaut Office (via Deadline). The film is set for release October 12, 2018.

Jack Black is turning to horror, starring in “The House with a Clock in its Walls”. The gothic-horror has been adapted by the 1973 book by John Bellairs, and sees a recently oprhaned 10 year old boy moving in with his mysterious uncle, who turns out to be a warlock. Meanwhile, neighbour Florence Zimmerman is a witch – which seems quite obvious with a name like that. The boy discovers a bunch of hidden passageways, magic and danger at the uncle’s house.

Eli Roth has been tapped to direct the film. No word yet on production or release dates. Thanks Deadline.

Riley Keough will co-star alongside Al Pacino in an upcoming yet-untitled Joe Paterno HBO Films project. The story will focus on Paterno’s (played by Pacino) later years, and the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal he gets caught up in.

Keough will play jounalist Sara Ganim, who first reported on the scandal, and bringing it to the attention of the local media. She later won a Pulitzer Prize for her work. The flick will be directed and executive produced by Barry Levinson. Via Variety.

Psychological thriller “Motivated Seller” has added three cast members to the ranks, with Michael Ealy, Dennis Quaid, Meagan Good and Joseph Sikora signing on. The film is directed by Deon Taylor, and sees a young couple (Ealy and Good) move into their dream house in the country, only to be confronted with danger in the form of the previous owner Charlie Peck (Quaid).

In the midst of trying to claim his home back, Charlie turns to diabolical manipulation and threatens the couple resulting in a bloody brawl (via Deadline). Taylor is also producing, alongside Roxanne Avent, Robert F. Smith, Mark Burg, David Guillod, Brad Kaplan and Johnathon Scwartz.

“Snowpiercer” is fleshing out nicely, with Roberto Urbina and Katie McGuinness cast as series regulars, alongside Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs. As previously reported, thriller drama “Snowpiercer” is based on the 2013 feature by Bong Joon-ho, and sees the remnants of humanity travelling the globe on a perpetually moving train.

According to Deadline, Urbina will play Avi, a man in a polyamourous relationship and working on the Breach Team – the train’s equivalent of a fireman. McGuinness has been cast as Josie McConnell, a woman caring for her sick husband at the poverty end of the train. The pilot has been directed by Scott Derrickson.

Tag, Leslie Bibb, you’re in! The already packed-to-the-rafters cast of “Tag” has been rounded out with Bibb, who is set to join Jeremy Renner, Ed Helms, Jon Hamm, Jake Johnson, Hannibal Buress, Annabelle Wallis, Rashida Jones and Isla Fisher. Production on the flick began this week, and will see cinemas June 29, 2018.

The film is helmed by Jeff Tomsic and follows a group of friends who have been playing ‘tag’ for 30 years.

Netflix series “Alexa & Katie” have cast three new faces – Eddie Shen, Jolie Jenkins and Emery Kelly are all onboard the comedy series. The series follows two best friends, Alexa and Katie (played by Paris Berelc and Isabel May respectively), who confront a crisis, leaving them feeling like outsider.

Shin has been cast as Alexa’s father Dave, Jenkins will play Katie’s single mum and Kelly will be playing Lucas, a high school junior who is discovering he’s good looking. The 13-episode season will premiere on Netflix in 2018 (via Deadline).
