Casting : The Commuter, The Crucifixion, Ouija 2

Liam Neeson will star in “The Commuter” for StudioCanal, says Variety.

The suspense thriller, written by Byron Willinger and Phil de Blasi, revolves around “a businessman on his daily commute home, who unwittingly gets caught up in a criminal conspiracy. It threatens not only his life but the lives of those around him. Production is set to start sometime next spring.”

Meantime, Sophie Cookson (“The Kingsman”) will star in “The Crucifixion” with Xavier Gens directing.

Chad and Carey Hayes wrote the script. In the film, when a priest is jailed for the murder of a nun on whom he was performing an exorcism, an investigative journalist strives to determine whether he in fact murdered a mentally ill person, or if he lost the battle with a demonic presence.

Variety says the project is set up at Motion Picture Capital.

Finally, Deadline reports that Parker Mack (MTV’s ”Faking It”), Sam Anderson, Kate Siegel (”Demon Legacy”) and Doug Jones (”Falling Skies”) have joined the cast of “Ouija 2”.
