Venom

Woody Harrelson has joined the cast of “Venom” at Sony Pictures.

Reuniting with “Zombieland’ director Ruben Fleischer, Harrelson is reportedly playing some sort of henchman in the film – a spin-off of the “Spider-Man” movies starring Tom Hardy as the iconic comic book villain reimagined as an anti-hero.

Shaft

Regina Hall (“Girl’s Trip”) will join Samuel L.Jackson, Richard Roundtree, Jessie T. Usher and Alexandra Shipp in director Tim Story’s “Shaft” reboot.

Hall will play a former lover of John Shaft, played by Jackson, and mother of Usher’s character.

The film hits theaters in the U.S on June 14, 2019. (Variety)

Burial Rites

Jennifer Lawrence will star in and produce 19th century true-crime drama ”Burial Rites”, which is being directed Luca Guadagnino, who is a front-runner in the Oscar race with his romance-drama ”Call Me by Your Name”.

Based on the novel by Hannah Kent, the pic tells the story of Agnes Magnusdottir (Lawrence), the last woman to be publicly executed in Iceland in 1830, after being sentenced to death for killing two men and setting fire to their home. (Deadline)
