Marvel Studios today confirmed that Vin Diesel will be doing the voice of Groot in their live action film ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, marvel.com has confirmed. The film, which also stars Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana is due out on the 1st of August next year.
”Guardians of the Galaxy” is directed by James Gunn, and is the first of the recent Marvel movies to step away from the Avengers and into the varied back catalogue of Marvel heroes. The studio also has the Paul Rudd lead “Ant-Man” due out in 2015.
The ”Fast and the Furious” star is no stranger to large franchises, but like pretty much everyone in Hollywood, I’m sure he is thrilled to be joining the steam train that is Marvel Studios.
