Clints Bits – 9/7

Yes, more of those dangling bits. What a week folks, what a long, gruelling, mixed-up old week. And here are some bits on – Disney sequels, JLo, Superman and Viggo Mortensen’s newie – to round it off. Ok, I’m hitting the bar..

  • Pixar have announced plans for a sequel to “Finding Nemo”, as well as a third “Toy Story” and second “Monsters Inc”

  • Rumors are circulating that Jennifer Lopez is up for a remake of “Flashdance” – but it might be a misunderstanding, see today’s IMDB.

  • The official site for “2 Fast 2 Furious” [which I saw today] is up, check it out here

  • A report on Dark Horizons suggests the Viggo Mortensen starring “Hildago”, might have undergone a name change to “Into the Fire”.

  • ”Superman” might be filmed in Montreal now – because of the SARS outbreak.

  • FilmJerk report that Warner Brothers has Exorcist: The Beginning back on their release schedule for July 18

  • The Chicago Sun-Times talked to director Neil LaBute about the upcoming remake of the 1973 British film, The Wicker Man starring Nicolas Cage, in which he revealed he’d like Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie for his cast.

  • Queen Latifah is nearing a deal to star in Miramax Films’ remake of the South Korean action-comedy "My Wife Is a Gangster.", says The Hollywood Reporter. It’s about a female mob boss (Queen Latifah) who gets married to please her dying sister. She chooses a poor, unsuspecting dupe who has no idea what he’s getting into in the hopes that he won’t ask too many questions. However, he starts to wise up, and she starts to fall in love.

  • Allen Coulter has come aboard to direct Focus Features’ "Truth, Justice and the American Way”, the story of “Superman” actor George Reeves, says The Hollywood Reporter.
