Comic Con : Star Wars!

There was no new trailer, but what the “Star Wars : The Force Awakens” panel at Comic Con did have today was a wonderful behind-the-scenes featurette that encompassed, among the joyous assortment of moments it offered, the first look at Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia) and Simon Pegg (he’s now confirmed for a cameo) in the film, new looks at Harrison Ford (Han Solo) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), a bunch of new creatures, wondrous backrops, and other spacely delights, and some inspiring words from cast and crew, like Mark Hamill.

Here’s a quick rundown of things we learnt at the panel :

– Harrison Ford seems legit stoked with this film!
– Domnhall Gleeson’s character is on the dark side, his General Hux is in charge of Star Killer (heehee).
– The Omaze creature was brought out on stage; such a great creation!
– JJ Abrams is currently editing the movie though, yes, if the ‘Fanboys’ wanted to they could now steal a workprint of the film.

After the panel – which was attended by most of the main cast, including Ford, Hamill and Fisher – attendees were invited to a special “Star Wars” concert down at the park, with the San Diego symphony orchestra performing hits from the “Star Wars” films.

Set pics of our new Ghostbusters on the job!
