UPDATE: No Darth Vader in Han Solo

Updated 28/07/2017: Spencer Wilding has taken to his Facebook page to dismiss rumours that he has been cast in the “Han Solo” film. See his Facebook post below:

Spencer Wilding, who appeared as Darth Vader in “Rogue One”, is rumoured to be the latest addition to the cast of “Han Solo”, the “Star Wars” spin off movie dropping in 2018.

Wilding was meant to attend the FandomFest convention in Louisville, KY over the coming weekend, but as they’ve announced on their website: “Spencer Wilding will be unable to attend as he will be filming the newest film in the Star Wars Universe.  Spencer will be coming back next year.”

The only “Star Wars” film in production at the moment is the “Han Solo” one, so anyone with skills in deduction could assume that Wilding is set to be on board the cast. Of course this doesn’t suggest that Darth Vader will be appearing in the film, as Wilding could be put in another role. As we don’t know much about the plot at this early stage, it’s not known if the Sith Lord will be cast, especially since Han Solo was fairly unfamiliar with Darth Vader in the original films.

The flick began filming in January, and recently had a director change with Ron Howard taking the reigns. The film also stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover as Lando Carissian, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Joonas Suotamo. The film is said to show how Han Solo and Chewbacca, first met Lando.

Check it out in cinemas from May 24, 2018.
