Fox has given David O. Russell’s “Joy” a Christmas 2015 release date.
The pic follows the story of Joy Mangano, a single mother of three who made millions after selling her Miracle Mop invention.
Deadline reports that Jennifer Lawrence is likely attached to star, which would see her reunite with Russell following their collaboration on “Silver Linings Playbook” and “American Hustle”.
The end-of-year release will see “Joy” vie for an Oscar nomination. It will open against “Kung Fu Panda 3”, also released by Fox, and Paramount’s “Mission Impossible 5”.
