Deadpool to get the TV treatment

Marvel’s “Deadpool” is going to get animated, with FXX is working on an animated series, created by Donald Glover and Stephen Glover.

According to Variety the show will be a 10 episode series beginning in 2018. The news follows a hugely successful movie in “Deadpool”, with the sequel to hit cinemas June 1, 2018.

While I will always think of Donald Glover as the sporty but kind-hearted Troy in “Community”, he has had his hands (how’s that for alliteration) in many pies in recent times, from directing, to acting, and even playing music in his band Childish Gambino. Glover will be an executive producer, showrunner and writer for the series alongside brother Stephen, while Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will also executive produce.

“How much more fun could this be? Deadpool, Donald and FX – the perfect fit for the Merc with the Mouth,” Loeb said. “We’re thrilled that our relationship with FX that started with ‘Legion’ continues with what is sure to be a groundbreaking show in adult animation.”

No more details on voice actors, but following the success of not only the “Deadpool” movie but also Marvel in general, it’s bound to be one to look out for.
