Dennis Quaid next playing Ronald Reagan

Dennis Quaid is headed back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Meg Ryan’s former quilt sharer is set to play the 40th U.S president in a new film from the producers of the “X-Men” series and Jerry Lewis starrer “Max Rose”.

Quaid had previously played Bill Clinton in 2010’s “The Special Relationship”.

Sean McNamara, director of “Soul Surfer”, will direct “Reagan”, based on a Howie Klausner script. Mark Joseph and Ralph Winter of “Max Rose” and “X-Men”, respectively, produce.

The filmmakers have secured financing from TriStar Global Entertainment, which previously funded films like ‘Crooked Tree’ and ‘Bad Karma.’

Quaid shares the role of Reagan with David Henrie, who plays Reagan as a younger man.

The movie has been in development for several years and will begin shooting next year, according to insiders.
