Details about The Purge TV show released

NBC’s upcoming TV show “The Purge”, an extension of the film franchise, is due to run in 2018, while a fourth film is also to be released at the same time.

James DeMonaco. writer, director and executive producer of the films previously stated that the TV series would be “an entirely new chapter in America’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness.” The films are based around one day a year when all laws go out the window, and murder and mayhem is legalized. The latest flick “The Purge: Election Year” showed how much the franchise had grown in popularity, being the highest grossing effort thus far.

The premise of the TV show has now come to light, with Jason Blum of Blumhouse stating “it will reveal to the fans what happens the other 364 days of the year and how that law affects people.”

It’ll be interesting to see how the TV show approaches this theme, as we know all the gory stuff happens in that 12 hours when the guns and knives come out and people act on their desires and revenge.
