The live-action “Detective Pikachu” starring Ryan Reynolds in the main role has been assigned a release date, set to hit cinemas May 10, 2019.
I’ll be honest, I could liken my interest in a Pokemon movie to watching my cat sleep for 8 hours but Reynolds’ involvement has peak-achoo-ed my interest. He’s joined by Kathryn Newton and Justice Smith in the cast, with Rob Letterman directing.
Plot details on the film have been scarce, but it’s said to follow the storyline of the namesake game quite closely, which sees the protagonist on a quest to find his father with the ‘sassy journalist’ female lead helping him.
