Directors being eyed for The Flash

Warner Bros. are on the lookout for a director for feature film “The Flash” and it seems to be harder than catching The Flash himself. The project has been on hold since losing Rick Famuyiwa, who was set to direct the production.

Variety reports that Matthew Vaughn and Robert Zemeckis are the top choices for the director’s chair, however it could be that there are still others in the mix. Sam Raimi’s name has also been thrown in, and the three names are said to be strong contenders for the job.

Zemeckis is currently working on an untitled film with Steve Carell, but sources have said that Warner Bros. consider him worth the wait. Vaughn, on the other hand, is familiar with the comic book genre, having “X-Men: First Class” and “Kingsman: The Secret Service” under his belt. Meanwhile, Raimi worked on the “Spider-Man” trilogy through the 2000s.

Jon Berg and Geoff Johns are currently seated in the producer’s spots.

Ezra Miller will play the speedy superhero, and we will see him in “Justice League”, to be released later this year. He will also be shooting “Fantastic Beasts 2” shortly. Billy Crudup is on board to play Flash’s father.

The flick has a tentative release date of March 23, 2018, but it will be interesting to see if the dispute in directors will delay the date.
